223 5.56 Fired Range Brass
Keep your 223 and 5.56 loading going with clean range brass by the hundred or the thousand. It is collected from local private and law enforcement ranges. This brass is hand sorted and cleaned using a dust-free process, but is otherwise unprocessed. It has not been sorted by headstamp or primer size. Extra brass is included to cover anything missed. The 223 to 5.56 ratio varies from order to order, and the lot may contain some Berdan-primed cases. Usually ships next business day.
- Dust-free cleaning
- Hand sorted, extras included

Satisfied! Thankfully no Berdan primed in mine!

I had picked up the 100ct pack which in contained thankfully, mostly LC brass and a couple of misc headstamps. I deprime off-press, so likely experiencing a Berdan primed cartridge wouldn't be the end of the world. I would like to note that some of the headstamps were both remarkably new and remarkably old. They ranged from around 2014 to 2021. All brass that was in the package met my expectations and I'm excited to see it put to work until it physically cannot anymore!

There's gotta be a way to easily identify berdan-primed brass. They dampen the experience with Everglades and their products.

(1) I know: Everglades warned that berdan-primed brass MIGHT BE included. However, never having encountered berdan-primed brass in my 13 years of reloading, I didn't know what to expect: how to find such brass from 258 pieces. Everglades stated that there is virtually no way to find such brass except by taking a flashlight to the inside of each case (258 of them) and looking for the TWO flash holes of the berdan-primed case. I tried that, only to become quite frustrated. In spite of Everglades' having cleaned the brass, it was impossible to see ONE or TWO flash holes, especially since the primers were still in the flash holes and the cleaning process did not completely remove the crud from inside the brass! So, I decided to take the plunge. I went ahead and inspected, decapped, and resized all 258 pcs of brass, each time being wary of what might happen if I encountered berdan-primed brass. As a result, I lost 2 decapping pins and went through the frustration of having to disassemble and reassemble my decapping/resizing die after replacing the "lost" decapping pins which were literally stuck inside the berdan-primed cases. Well, charge it to experience. I will never buy "cleaned" range brass from Everglades unless it can guarantee "no berdan-primed cases included." I'd rather pay the extra $20.00 for the "processed" cases. I'll try that next. So, that's my first critique. (2) I know: Everglades does not claim "once-fired," or "NATO-fired," or give descriptions that make their brass seem to be superior to competitors'. In fact, because of this, I sense that Everglades is doing its utmost to be honest about its brass, unlike one of its competitors. Everglades states "range brass." I found exactly what I was expecting from that terminology. Headstamps: LC, WCC, Frontier, GFL, IWI, Wolf, R-P, etc, etc, etc. As with the competitor's brass, impossible (for me at least) to tell if once-fired, twice-fired, or six times-fired. When trimming, I got a lot of shavings from around 216 pcs, which I guess to be the once-fired pcs. The remaining 40 were exactly or less than 1.75" (mostly less), which I feel may have been more than once-fired. To conclude, I would never use this brass to handload match ammo. I will continue to use this brass for plinking and maybe varminting.

Berdan primer!
Review by
Nick
First time buying this 1k box. Ruined 2 resizing die rods due to berdan primers being mixed in. If anything should be checked, aside from damaged or bad brass, is the primer type. 2 berdan primers and I've only reloaded 40 brass. Not good odds **** EvergladesAmmo.com Note - We do not sort by headstamp or for Berdan in 223/5.56 range brass. Berdan is not common but always a small possibilty. This is a QC responsibility of the reloader ****

I’ve been buying once fired brass, of various calibers, from Everglades for a number of years. I have never been disappointed in the product nor the service. I wholly recommend them as your supplier.

Very pleased!

I ordered 1K of the 5.56 brass. BLUF: Very pleased and will reorder shortly.
The box arrived looking like the USPS had played soccer with it. Thankfully whomever prepped the box taped the living daylights out of it. Box was ragged but intact.
Opened the box and the brass was in a sealed plastic bag. Good thinking! The brass looked great. I did not count the total but will say that there were only 2 pieces that I tossed because they were partially crushed. 87 pieces were TAA and the rest were all LC.

So sold on Everglades

Just received my 1000 rounds on Saturday and this is my 3rd order with Everglades and it won't be my last. The shipping is always super fast and super cheap (in Alaska that's usually not the case) and the product is always exactly what's advertised. If I had to buy these components here in Anchorage reloading 223's would not be cost effective at all. (not that I'm saving a ton, it is just fun) I just can't express how happy I am to find this website. Keep up the good work!
